Shipwreck tells a non-linear visual story. It uses the power of photography as fiction.
This is a series of photographs as enigmas and fantasies — mental images that reinvent the real.
First there is a coral reef: an oasis of piercing beauty in the middle of a liquid desert.
There is also an island, almost impossible to detect, and on the island lies a forest, where one can take refuge. Amongst the foliage, heavy, generous fruits are waiting to be picked.
On the island is a man — the shipwrecked — and a cave that seems to have always been there — his lair.
There is a child, never moving and all-knowing, and, alongside him, the depth of the sea.
There is also the darkness of night, stars and the faint shimmer of moonlight.
And then, there is tomorrow.
