Through Berlin, Beyond The Wall, Patrick Tourneboeuf questions memory, the scar and the present, but also the symbolic and universal sense of the fall of the Berlin Wall, in echo to the several ramparts that raised all around the world these past years.
This project offers a shared and committed thought from Patrick Tourneboeuf’s work, by bringing together a community of personalities and a public around this contemporary and global issue.
The exhibition is composed of three series, related to three historical moments:
Memory, 1988-1990 / Scar, 2003-2004 / Present, 2014-15-2019
Folia opened its doors in the spring of 2016, on 13 rue de l’Abbaye in the heart of Paris’s artistic Saint Germain des Prés neighborhood. Folia is a multi-purpose space intended for photography exhibits, presentations, conferences and other events on the theme of photography, drawing and painting. A library also proposes a selection of books combining art and writing.
The different types of presentations (conferences, readings, debates and more) proposed by Folia bring together both artists and specialists, and give rise to very meaningful encounters and contrasts. These convivial exchanges are open to a wide audience: art lovers and experts, collector, professionals and more, for a lively approach to the visual arts.
Folia’s vocation is to contribute to the renown of the the emerging and confirmed. Both the premises and the events that take place there are true to the spirit of social activism, humanism and solidarity.
