In partnership with PhotoSaintGermain festival, which will take place from November 2nd to the 25th, 2023 at various venues in the capital, the Beaux-Arts de Paris school is holding an exhibition entitled Counter-Spaces.
Because counter-spaces are mental spaces, metaverses, ZADs, art schools, etc., they are spaces haunted by phantasms that generate gaps, discontinuities with the places that surround them. As a result, we're offering Beaux-Arts students and recently graduated artists the chance to exhibit a selection of transgressive, stimulating images to encourage contestation and invention.
Open to the public free of charge and located in the Labo Photo, the Perret corridor and its exteriors, the Counter Spaces exhibition aims to show the diversity of photographic expression in today's image making community.
Beaux-Arts de Paris
The Beaux-Arts are a place for training and artistic experimentation, an exhibition space, a place for the conservation of historical and contemporary collections and a publishing house.
A five-year course combines the founding elements of the artistic process and the challenges of contemporary art. The schooling is unique, founded on workshop practices coordinated by a renowned artist, and the diversity of techniques, from the most traditional to the most contemporary.
Home to the collections of the Royal Academies, the Beaux-Arts possess a trove of over 450,000 works whose presentation to the public they insure through exhibitions and loans. They occupy a vast architectural spread over two hectares, classified as historical monuments.
