Towards A Motion Field narrates the wanderings of a woman in Paris at night. Hotel room, subway tunnels, banks of the Seine... Like the light and gestures, the scenery shifts in jolts. Marvin Leuvrey directs his heroine : he places her in a scene, dictates her movements. In his images in motion, we follow her every step, neither completely complicit nor voyeur. Simulated, stuck together, they create a stream of clues –a telephone, a building, plates, a ballet of cars, the black water of the river – of her wanderings, of which we will discover nothing.
Marvin Leuvrey considers Saint-Germain-des-Prés less as a source of inspiration than an experimental terrain : although he draws the iconography for his fiction from it, he does it in order to make the narrative thread veer towards abstraction.
