Loose Fist by Arhant Shrestha is a visual testimony to men’s post-traumatic fear. Conceived as an exercise in confrontation and resolution, his images become a space through which he examines and shares the evolution of his personal relationship to masculinity in Kathmandu.
« When I look at the men in my photographs, I see in them the faces and bodies of the men who hurt me — and I begin to see myself in their faces and bodies. »
Arhant Shrestha
The installation accompanies the release of the eponymous book published by Atelier EXB, with a book signing scheduled for November 13 at Librairie 7L. The launch of the book is planned for November 13 between 7 PM and 9 PM at the Bookstore 7L.
7L
Founded in 1999 by Karl Lagerfeld in Paris and acquired in 2021 by CHANEL, 7L celebrates its founder’s unconditional love for book and photography.
Spanning 700 square meters, the space brings together three complementary activities : a bookstore dedicated to new releases in the visual arts, a cultural program titled Correspondances — focused on contemporary creation and hosted in Karl Lagerfeld’s former photography studio — and Éditions 7L.
In partnership with Atelier EXB and Villa Noailles, Éditions 7L launched the Grand Prix du Jury de la Photographie 7L collection which offers a reflection on contemporary photography, featuring the work of the award winners of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères, accompanied by essays offering diverse perspectives on the series presented by each laureate.
