The exhibition Histoire, histoire(s) presents works created by second-year students of the Bachelor in Art & Image program at the Atelier de Sèvres. Through a crossed-disciplinary approach of the photographic medium, the students build narratives where their own images interact with various archival materials.
At a time when images circulate more than ever, this project invites reflection on the notion of the archive in all its diversity — from magazine photographs, family albums, slides, postcards, and found images to visuals drawn from the media and social networks.
This work also outlines a documentary approach to photography, rooted in long-term observation and engaging with representations of the past. The political history of a country may be evoked alongside community memory or personal stories, creating a plural and transversal exploration of photography.
The project was developed as part of a workshop led by photographer Mathieu Pernot and graphic designer Line Célo, resulting in both an exhibition and several printed editions.
Atelier de Sèvres
Since 1979, the Atelier de Sèvres has welcomed promising young artists into its studios each year. Located on Rue de Sèvres — and from September 2025 also on Rue Claude Bernard — in the vibrant and artistic Latin Quarter of Paris, the school offers its students a stimulating learning environment.
The Bachelor in Art & Image program, launched in September 2021, is a three-year higher education course offering innovative, multidisciplinary artistic training. It prepares image professionals with a distinctive visual language, combining creativity, critical thinking, and technical expertise through the study of photography, video, and printed image.
